Leadership and Management
The proprietor and the Headteacher work together to ensure that they create a culture that enables pupils and staff to excel. They are committed to ensuring high standards for the achievement and conduct of pupils and ensuring that outcomes are continually improving for all pupils. The School Development Plan details the Priorities and actions that are planned to meet the overall aims of the school. The priorities can be summarised in the improvement objectives below:
Curriculum: To strengthen the ethos surrounding the curriculum ensuring that learning is at the forefront of all curriculum activity; ensure that the curriculum remains broad and balanced throughout both key stages to facilitate a deeper level of pupil learning.
Pupil Progress: To ensure effective teaching and relevant accreditation leads to individual pupil success. and for all pupils to make progress from their starting points across the subjects they are studying.
Personal Development: To ensure that pupils develop as responsible young people with clearly defined morals and core values which embody those of modern Britain evidenced through their work, attitudes to learning and the school. Pupils meet and exceed expectations with regard to their daily conduct. Pupils are able to clearly articulate the school ethos and values and these are reflected in both their daily conduct and overall achievement.
Transition: To ensure that all subjects offered provide opportunities for pupil engagement and accreditation to allow pupils to make an appropriate transition, either to return to mainstream education or on to further education.
Growth of the school: To ensure an increase in pupil admission numbers is achieved during this academic year. Our aim is to extend the education offer and include additional services relevant to pupils needs and to develop partnerships with other providers to enhance their education offer.
Pupils who are admitted to the school will usually have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education and Health Care Plan. Pupils may join our school during the assessment stage of this process. Under the Children and Families Act 2014, children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) who meet the relevant threshold will be supported by an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), which spans the age range from birth to 25 years, and replaces the statement of special educational needs (SSEN). All existing SSENs will continue to have legal status until they are formally transferred to new EHCPs.
